As a Metro-Detroit-based artist, my work is driven by a desire to explore controversial social issues and individuals through a provocative lens. Through painting, drawing, and mixed media, I seek to challenge viewers' preconceptions and offer a raw response to the subjects that I engage with.
My artistic practice is informed by a commitment to free speech and a focus on purpose, context, and meaning over biases and inclinations. I strive to capture the essence of my subjects through careful attention to lighting and composition, creating works that offer a distinctive and powerful perspective on the world around us.
My influences include painters such as Zdzisław Beksiński and Giovanni Gasparro, as well as performance artists like Zhu Yu and Andres Serrano. I am drawn to their ability to push boundaries, challenge conventions and seek to bring a similar spirit of experimentation and innovation to my own work.
